Johnny paid $4400 tips to a Chicago Waiter

CHICAGO, Ill. -- Johnny Depp has previously said that money isn't the key to happiness.

But during a visit to a Chicago restaurant, the star certainly brought joy to one unsuspecting waiter with a reported sizable tip.

Depp, his "Public Enemies" co-star Marion Cotillard, director Michael Mann, along with about a dozen other folks -- who were in Chicago last week for the premiere of their new gangster movie -- made a stop at Gibsons Steakhouse around 11:30 PM, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Once the bill came around 2:30 AM -- totaling up to a reported $4,400 -- Depp made sure the man who waited on the group into the late hours was well compensated for his time, as Mohammaed A. Sekhani reportedly received a $4,000 tip from the star.

"He had visited our restaurant several times before while he was filming 'Public Enemies' and he promised me that he would return after the premiere," Sekhani told Radar Online.

According to the longtime Gibsons waiter, Depp and his friends ordered items including shrimp cocktails, Clams Casino, as well as a few expensive bottles of wine.

"He also ordered some $500 bottles of Italian wine and he was in good spirits throughout the evening chatting with Mr. Mann and Miss Cotillard," Sekhani added.

Generous tip aside, Sekhani said he always enjoys waiting on the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star each time he visits Gibsons.

"Because he had visited us before he calls me 'Mo' and I know exactly the way he likes to be treated. He may be one of the most famous actors in the world but he is a very 'humble guy' and a really cool dude," the waiter continued. "I have worked with a lot of stars like Sean Connery and Robert De Niro but Johnny Depp is my favorite He is a very soft spoken guy who is very charming and sweet -- when I wait for him he doesn't like to be too fussed over and is not in any way demanding."

When contacted by Access Hollywood, a rep for Depp was not immediately available for comment on the story.

While still a successful model at the age of 35 after having three kids, the majority of Klum's earnings are driven by her TV and endorsement career. Klum remains a member of the Victoria's Secret angel entourage as well as host of "Project Runway" and "Germany's Next Top Model." The German beauty also designs a line Birkenstock sandals and has endorsement deals with Diet Coke, Volkswagen, McDonald's, and LG. Last year, she came out with her own skincare line, In An Instant. Klum earned $16 million from her various ventures.

Returning at No. 1 this year is Gisele Bundchen, who earned an estimated $25 million in the last year from numerous campaigns including Versace, True Religion jeans, Dior, and Ebel watches. The Brazilian model has rare range--from high fashion to mass market--and measured impact on the success of the brands she represents. She also has her own Brazilian shoe line and tabloid fame on par with movie stars -- thanks in part to her recent marriage to NFL superstar Tom Brady.

The models on our list were ranked according to estimated earnings from June 2008 to June 2009.

The modeling industry was hard-hit by the economic crisis. Prominent fashion labels canceled or downgraded their runway shows, leaving models hoping for a break with fewer opportunities. Declining revenues at major beauty and retail companies left agents with less leverage to bargain for their clients.

But, the economy has increased the value of the versatile yet trademark beauty of those at the top of the industry. "After a few years of mixed results where the sole obsession was attaching the biggest name or celebrity to your brand, companies are searching for that face that won't muddle their message," says Chris Gay, president of Marilyn Agency, which represents Adriana Lima. "The models that possess that beauty are the faces everyone wants right now, but that's a rare beauty."

The most successful models, including those who have cycled on and off this list, are able to evoke an emotional consumer response. While celebrities hawk everything from cotton underwear to Smart Water, only professional models can walk the Victoria's Secret runway with inimitable perfection and enough accessibility to get plain Janes across the world into the stores. While the uber-successful make millions, the majority make very little compared to the impact they have on the retail economy.

"These are young business professionals at the height of their game, rarer than superstar athletes, who are in an incredibly competitive environment and who have to deliver their skill set at any time day or night," says Ed Razek, president and chief marketing officer of Limited Brands, the parent company of Victoria's Secret. "These are people who can connect to consumers and move product."

As with years previous, the changes on the list illustrate the cyclical nature of the modeling business. The loss of a major contract can have a huge impact on overall earnings, as in the case of Karolina Kurkova, who dropped off our list after her Victoria's Secret contract expired.

Bndchen, though still No. 1, earned $10 million less with the loss of Victoria's Secret and other contracts. Kate Moss' earnings climbed $1 million based on the continued success of her clothing line for the British chain Topshop and several deal renewals.

This year's new girl is Emanuela De Paula at No. 11, who broke through as the face of U.K. retailer Next and is featured prominently in Victoria's Secret campaigns.

Heidi and Spencer eloped to Mexico back in November 2008 and have probably been planning this big affair ever since. The bride and groom arrived to the church in a white Rolls Royce. Among the 200 guests were Audrina Patridge, Kristin Cavallari, Brody Jenner and Frankie Delgado.

It's confirmed: "Slumdog Millionaire" costars Dev Patel and Freida Pinto are an item.Days after Patel, 19, and Pinto, 24, were photographed having a romantic lunch at an Israeli cafe on Wednesday, Patel's mother confirms they're together."First it was the film and now everything else seems to have slotted into place," Mrs. Patel is quoted as saying in Monday's Daily Mirror.

"Life can't get any better for him," she adds. "Freida is really beautiful, and I am really happy for them."

Asked about her son's trip to visit Pinto (who is shooting the Julian Schnabel drama "Miral" in Jerusalem), she says, "Yes, we knew he was flying to Israel to see her."

During the trip, Patel and Pinto were spotted packing on the PDA in Tel Aviv, where they strolled around the harbor and enjoyed a champagne dinner at a seaside restaurant.
Both Patel and Pinto denied dating rumors earlier this year while they promoted "Slumdog Millionaire," which won the Oscar for Best Picture.

Ryan Seacrest Dating LA. Bartender?

Ryan Seacrest may be one of the hardest-working men in Hollywood, but last week he took time out from his gig as a host of “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” for a romantic jaunt to Paris with L.A. bartender Jasmine Waltz.

Seacrest, 34, met Waltz during a night out at Guy's, a West Hollywood lounge. Waltz, who has previously worked at other L.A. hotspots including Les Deux and Italian restaurant Bella, is an aspiring actress, a source tells PEOPLE.

"They've been together for a few months now," says the source.

After wrapping his “American Idol” duties last week, Seacrest whisked Waltz off to Paris for a weekend where the couple displayed a lot of PDA.

The brief respite served as a prelude to a busy spring: Seacrest's radio show, which garners a weekly international audience of 20 million across 130 stations, will expand to a fourth hour of programming on May 4.

In December, Seacrest's mother Connie told momlogic.com she wished her son, the producer of the NBC reality show Momma's Boys, would have more time to date. "That would be wonderful for him," she said, "and we'd stand a better chance for him to have a relationship."

Fans can finally get beneath the skin of David Beckham in a new campaign which shows the AC Milan player in a new light and stripped to the bone.

In the past Beckham has left little to the imagination after posing in next to nothing in commercials for Armani and Gilette.
Now the most famous player in the world has gone one step further in stripping back to the bone for Motorolas new advertising campaign.

The advert is intended to show what drives the England international from within.
The final image, which uses cutting-edge post production techniques, shows Beckham framed by a red light which gives him an otherwordly aura and exposes his ribs, muscles and arteries.
Motorola shot the images for the launch of the news Aura phone which includes the same signature red dot held by Beckham in the advert.

The phone boasts a stainless steep casing, and a 63 carat sapphire crystal lens.
Motorola signed up Beckham in 2006 even though the football star had spend many years advertising rival Vodafone.

He has also appeared in adverts for Adidas, Pepsi, and his own scent range with wife Victoria, Intimately Beckham.
Managed by Simon Fuller, the man behind Pop Idol, his sponsorship deals are estimate to be worth around £17 million a year.

Gibson Divorced

LOS ANGELES – Court records show Mel Gibson's wife has filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage.

Robyn Gibson filed the petition in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences.
The petition doesn't give any details about the split. Robyn Gibson is seeking jewelry and some other property, and has suggested joint custody for their 9-year-old son.
The records show the couple were married in June 1980.
They issued a joint statement Monday, saying they have "always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so."
Gibson is one of Hollywood's biggest names, with a pair of Oscar wins for best picture and director for "Braveheart."
The divorce was first reported by celebrity gossip site TMZ.

The Material Girl, trying to adopt a second child from the impoverished African nation, was rejected in her bid to bring home an orphaned 3-year-old girl.If Madonna wants to add Chifundo "Mercy" James to her brood, she needs to establish roots in the African nation, the judge ruled in rebuking the international superstar.Under Malawi law, non-residents can't adopt local children unless they live in the country for at least 18 months - a requirement waived once before for the platinum-selling singer."A person is not entitled to claim to be a resident at a given town simply because he pays a short, temporary visit," said Judge Esmie Chombo, who vetoed the adoption."Some expectation of continuity is a vital factor, which turns simple occupation into continuity."A court waived the rule in 2006 when Madonna was able to take her son David out of the country before finalizing the adoption. Critics charged the Material Mom received special treatment.Madonna, 50, who has homes in London and New York, was eager to adopt the toddler whose mother died at age 14. Court papers show the 3-year-old girl's uncle consented to the adoption.Madonna, in papers unsealed Friday, said she hoped to spare the girl a life of "hardship and emotional trauma.""I am able and willing to securely provide for Chifundo James and make her a permanent and established member of my family," she said.She can appeal the judge's decision to Malawi Supreme Court.News of her attempts to adopt Mercy sparked worldwide debate. Some argued that the girl should be cared for by her extended family. Lindsprasay Lohan using Fake Bake y-tanner, wasn't her own Sevin Nyne?

Lindsay Lohan may be launching her own spray-tan line this month, but that hasn't stopped her from using other brands.
The out-of-work actress has employed the services of mobile spray tanner Fake Bake several times over the past few months, according to insiders.
Says a source: "Lindsay tans on the sly, and will have the van come to the house of her girlfriend [Samantha Ronson] instead of her own for discretionary purposes."
But what about Lindsay's own line, Sevin Nyne, which will be sold exclusively at Sephora for $35 beginning April 15?
"It was important to me to have a natural product that didn't have a lot of dyes and chemicals," the often orange-hued starlet said of her brand. "Our product has a natural golden color ... doesn't streak and smells delicious - not like a typical tanning product."
When asked about Lohan's brand loyalty, the actress' business partner, Kristi Kaylor, told us: "Lindsay only uses Sevin Nyne. As well as perfecting the solution with our lab and choosing the scent, Lindsay named the product, art-directed the visual components and has been involved every step of the way. In addition to tanning troubles, things aren't going well for Lohan all around. She's not only having a self-proclaimed problem finding work, a pal says she's "spiraling out of control. Her weight has dropped to new lows. It's a strictly liquid diet with very little solid food. She'll consume anything with caffeine and sugar - at least three Red Bulls a day.
"Her behavior is getting more and more reminiscent of her pre-rehab days, especially with these bursts of outrage at the paparazzi. She's fighting with Sam on a daily basis and acting out all the time. We're all scared for her."
Lohan's father, Michael, is voicing his concern as well. He recently called her dramatic weight loss "scary," adding: "It's torturing me to see her like this."
Says Lohan's rep: "Any friend who is speaking on Lindsay's behalf about personal issues isn't a friend."

Oprah disheartened by second sex scandal for elite school

Oprah Winfrey says she is "disheartened" that her elite boarding school for girls in South Africa has been rocked by its second sex scandal in fewer than two years."I'm disappointed that several of our students chose to disregard the school's rules. It's disheartening when any student has to be suspended or expelled and it's a process that involves serious review and consideration," Winfrey said in a statement to "Entertainment Tonight" Tuesday.
"Indiscretions resulting in disciplinary action are common in schools all over the world. Unfortunately, because of my name these common infractions place the Academy in the media spotlight."
Seven students were suspended last week for sexually harassing their schoolmates, the "Afrikaans on Sunday" newspaper reported.
One 15-year-old was accused of preying on another pupil and forcing other girls to lie to investigators about it, the paper reported.
"You have been found guilty of physical contact of a sexual nature with another pupil on campus, harassment, bullying other girls on campus and of being dishonest by not telling investigators the whole truth," a letter to her parents read.
Other girls were caught fondling each other or trying to get other girls to join them in lesbian liasons, the paper reported.
Oprah's spokesperson, Lisa Halliday, confirmed the girls had been suspended from the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy School for Girls - but gave few details.
"It is because they contravened the school's code of conduct," she said. "We regard the incident as confidential."
Winfrey called it the proudest moment of her life when she opened the $46 million school near Johannesburg in January 2007 to help high achieving but poor South African girls.
Nelson Mandela dedicated the school and luminaries ranging from songbirds Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige to filmmaker Spike Lee and actor Sidney Poitier attended the opening.
The school, which aims to house 450 girls in grades 7 through 12 by 2011, offered free tuition, books and uniforms, as well as room and board.
In return, the girls were required to follow the rules.
Ten months later, Winfrey sobbed uncontrollably after 15 girls eported they had been sexually abused by a matron who was supposed to be watching over them.
The talk show queen said the sex abuse charges hit her especially hard because she was raped and molested by a cousin, uncle and family friend when she was 9.
"I am a mama bear when it comes to protecting my children," she said at the time. "These girls are like my children. That's not just rhetoric for me. I take their futures and the possibility for what their futures hold very seriously."
Dorm matron Virginia Tiny Makgobo, 27, was charged with indecent assault, common assault, soliciting a minor to perform an indecent act and verbal abuse of girls at the school. She denies the charges and is due back in court on June 1.
Vowing to "clean house," Winfrey also fired the school's headmistress and announced she would hand out cell phones - with her number on speed dial - to each student.
It was not clear if any students used their phones to report the latest outrage.

Queen Latifah get sued in pretty nasty Cover Girl beauty flap

The profesionals who kept Queen Latifah pretty are making some ugly accusations about the CoverGirl spokeswoman.
Cosmetologist Roxanna Floyd and stylist Susan Moses said they've been stiffed out of $1 million for their work on Queen Latifah's CoverGirl ad campaign, as well as the star's "Curvations" line of intimate apparel.
The Brooklyn women filed separate breach of contract suits yesterday in Manhattan Federal Court against the "Bringing Down the House" star, whose real name is Dana Owens. Moses says Latifah promised her a $50,000-a-year salary when she went to work on the Curvations line in 2005, and is due $300,000.
"Despite such demands and assurances as well as expressions of remorse for having stiffed plaintiff ... defendants have completely failed to pay plaintiff for her services and .... expenses relating to Curvations," Moses' lawyer Carmen Giordano wrote.
Latifah spokeswoman Amanda Silverman called the suits "without merit," but declined to discuss them further.
Floyd, known as Roxie, has used her powder puff to touch up the likes of Angela Bassett, Whitney Houston and Mary J. Blige. She says she's owed $700,000.
Until last year, she was a consultant for the CoverGirl line of cosmetic products known as the "Queen Collection," the suit says.

“Kissing him wasn’t bad at all,” Ciara cooed to us. “Justin’s a sweetheart, and the whole shoot felt very organic. It all flowed so well.”
Despite the smooch, JT’s girlfriend, Jessica Biel, doesn’t have much to worry about. “I met her, and she’s very nice,” said Ciara. “I think she was cool [that I kissed her man]. She seems like a confident girl, so there’s nothing for her to worry about.”

“American Idol” judge Randy Jackson is addressing a past “Idol” contestant’s claim that group performances were lip-synced.
“I think they prerecord the backgrounds in the studio and maybe the backgrounds are a little lip-synced,” Jackson admitted to us at the Vision Expo launch of his eyewear line for Zyloware. “But I think the solos are definitely live. Because these kids aren’t dancers and they’re trying to do choreography, that’s why it happens … if it happens at all.”

The pop star found an on-tour playmate in a hunky 21-year-old backup dancer while father Jamie was tending to business in L.A. late this month. According to a well-placed tour source, Britney’s relationship with the hoofer was not that innocent.
“Britney was a bad girl,” says our insider. “Literally as soon as her dad left, she started getting cozy with a dancer named Gio. It wasn’t serious. They had a few romantic interludes, and she bought him a few things — a pair of shoes and some clothes — even though she’s on an allowance.”
But now that Jamie’s back with the “Circus” tour and casting a watchful eye over his daughter again, Brit’s romance has cooled. “Britney was definitely getting jiggy there for a hot minute, but they’ve slowed down since Jamie got back in the picture,” says the insider. “It’s basically over now.”
It isn’t just Brit’s love life that Jamie is controlling, he’s now trying to shut down one of her biggest fan sites, BreatheHeavy, over alleged breach of copyright in posting unauthorized photos and videos.
The site owner posted the following: “I have been battling the conservatorship Britney is currently placed under for months now. When I did not conform to the requests and demands Britney’s management and father, Jamie Spears, recently put upon BreatheHeavy to stay quiet, they in turn became angry and malicious. ... The conservatorship Britney is placed under, which controls every aspect of her life, is now clenching the future of her biggest fan site.”
Jamie’s iron glove may be wearing thin on Britney — rumor has it she’s fighting back. Monday, the Perez Hilton site posted a voice-mail she purportedly left for her legal team on battling the conservatorship. “Hi, my name’s Britney Spears,” Brit reportedly said. “I just wanted to make sure that during the process of eliminating the convervatorship that my father has threatened me several times. You know, he’ll take my children away. I just want to be guaranteed that everything will be fine with the process of you guys taking care of everything.”
Time will only tell what goes down in the battle between father and daughter, but Jamie be warned: When you start messing with a girl’s love life, you’re asking for trouble.

Paris Hilton left humiliated at her own birthday party after her new man exposed her lip-synching. The socialite - who flew by private jet to Las Vegas with 15 friends to belatedly celebrate turning 28 - was horrified when lover Doug Reinhardt grabbed her microphone as she was performing her song ‘Stars Are Blind’ at the Body English night club at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Saturday (07.03.09).
A source said: “Paris was really going all-out to impress Doug until he took the mic off her and the singing just carried on. Everyone in the club thought it was hilarious.”
Before her rendition, Paris paid tribute to Doug, gushing: “My man is right over there, the sexiest man in the world.”
During the evening, Paris - whose birthday was on February 18 - was entertained by Chester French and then presented with a giant pink mushroom-shaped cake decorated with a butterfly before heading up to the Penthouse suite at 3am to continue partying.
They were greeted by the Sesame Street band, playing in a room filled with balloons and circus performers.
Paris had already celebrated her special day in New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo.

The actress gave birth to daughter Honor Marie last June - her husband Cash Warren are keen to add to their family and want to conceive by the end of this year.
A source said: 'Jessica and Cash are working overtime to get pregnant. She and Cash are boasting that they love being parents and are determined to expand their family as soon as possible.'

Jessica, 27, recently revealed how giving birth had given her life a new meaning.
She said: 'So far, motherhood is the best thing ever. It is exhausting but way more fulfilling than anything I have done. Everything I do now is so much more meaningful because of her.'
The stunning star also claimed the labour wasn't as painful as she expected.
She said: 'Contractions aren't that bad. If you've ever had bad cramps? That's what they're like. But that moment when they put the baby on your chest - that's deep. It's a deep experience.'

Larry believes their days are numbered and wants the band - which also consists of Bono, The Edge and Adam Clayton - to split while they are still successful.
He said: 'There will be a time when it's like, 'It's time to go.' I would like that to be on a high when you're still achieving as opposed to the curve down. That'll be sad for me. I think it'll be a more dignified time to go.'
However, the 47-year-old musician says if the group decides to part ways, he wouldn't rule out a reunion.
He said: 'We might come back in five years' time and may do something together for old times' sake because we know we'll want to. That'll be a beautiful end to a long beautiful career. It can't go on for ever. It just can't.'
Despite considering retirement, the Irish rockers recently announced plans for a mammoth world tour.
They will visit 14 European cities on the first leg of their '360 Degrees' run of shows, beginning at Barcelona's Nou Camp stadium on June 30.
The concerts - which features four UK dates, including a show at London's Wembley stadium on August 14 - will feature an 'innovative' 360 degree set design allowing all of the audience an unobstructed view of the band.

Bruce Willis might be celebrating more than his birthday this weekend, as rumors are circulating that he's also set to marry long-term girlfriend Emma Heming at his Caribbean hideaway.
Willis, who celebrates his 54th birthday Thursday, has been dating the 32-year-old British model for more than a year and has reportedly booked a block of ocean view rooms and private villas close to his own home in Turks & Caicos for a low-key ceremony.
A source close to Willis tells the Daily News the actor has talked about his desire to remarry since his divorce from Demi Moore nine years ago.
The actor has remained close to his ex-wife and her husband Ashton Kutcher, who have already arrived in Turks & Caicos ahead of the possible nuptials.
A rep for Willis had no comment.

15 American idols that sold the most albums

This is the list of the 15 Idol contestants who have sold 500,000 or more albums. Each artist's name is followed by their total album sales tally, through this week.

1. Kelly Clarkson, 9,836,000. The Season 1 winner this week becomes the first Idol contestant to land two #1 albums. All I Ever Wanted was preceded by her 2003 debut, Thankful. Both albums contained #1 singles, "My Life Would Suck Without You" and "A Moment Like This," respectively. But Clarkson's best-seller is her sophomore album, Breakaway. The 2004 album spawned four top 10 hits, including "Since U Been Gone" and "Because Of You." It's the only album by an Idol contestant to feature four top 10 hits. The album also brought Clarkson two Grammys, including Best Pop Vocal Album.

2. Carrie Underwood, 9,408,000. The Season 4 winner is the only Idol contestant who has won (or even been nominated for) a Grammy as Best New Artist. Underwood has won a total of four Grammys, more than any other Idol contestant. She has also sold more albums than any other country singer in Idol history. Underwood's debut album, Some Hearts, spawned three top 20 hits: "Inside Your Heaven" (which hit #1), "Jesus, Take The Wheel" and "Before He Cheats." While Some Hearts stalled at #2, her sophomore album, Carnival Ride, opened at #1 with first-week sales of 527,000.

3. Clay Aiken, 4,896,000. The Season 2 runner-up has sold more albums than any other male singer in Idol history. Aiken has also sold more albums than any other singer who didn't win the competition. His debut album, Measure Of A Man, opened at #1 with first-week sales of 613,000. That's still the record for the biggest weekly sales tally of any Idol contestant's album. The album included two top 10 hits: the #1 "This Is The Night" and a cover of the Carpenters' hit "Solitaire." Aiken also had a million-seller with Merry Christmas With Love, the best-selling holiday album by an Idol contestant.

4. Daughtry, 4,413,000. Chris Daughtry, who finished fourth in Season 5, has sold more albums than any other rock artist in Idol history. He has also sold more than any other Idol performer who didn't make the final round, and more than any other Idol performer who went on to form a group. The band's debut album, Daughtry, is the only album by an Idol contestant to climb to #1 (as opposed to debut at #1). It first hit the top spot in its ninth week. The album spawned four top 20 hits, "It's Not Over," "Home," "Over You" and "What About Tonight." Daughtry's tally includes an EP that sold 9,000 copies.

5. Ruben Studdard, 2,487,000. The Season 2 winner has sold more albums than any other African American contestant in Idol history. He's also the only artist on this list who was born outside the U.S. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany, while his father was stationed there in the U.S. Army. Studdard's debut album, Soulful, bowed at #1 with first-week sales of 417,000 copies. It featured two top 10 hits, "Flying Without Wings" and "Sorry 2004." Studdard's sophomore album, the gospel-oriented I Need An Angel, hit #20. His third release, the R&B-focused The Return, hit #8.

6. Fantasia, 2,309,000. The Season 3 winner, Fantasia Barrino, shed her last name and became a star. She hit #8 with her debut album, Free Yourself. The album featured four Hot 100 hits, including the #1 "I Believe." Her follow-up album, Fantasia, reached #19. Like Clay Aiken (who played Sir Robin in Monty Python's Spamalot), Fantasia has made her mark on Broadway. She played Celie in The Color Purple in 2007.

7. Jordin Sparks, 1,053,000. The Season 6 winner reached #10 with her debut album, Jordin Sparks. It featured four top 20 hits, "This Is My Now," "Tattoo," "One Step At A Time" and "No Air," a duet with Chris Brown. This tally also includes an EP which has sold 49,000 copies.

8. David Cook, 1,029,000. The Season 7 winner reached #3 with his sophomore album, David Cook. It spawned a #3 hit, "The Time Of My Life," as well as a top 20 follow-up, "Light On." This tally also includes Cook's pre-Idol debut album, Analog Heart, which has sold 2,000 copies.

9. Kellie Pickler, 990,000. Pickler, who finished sixth in Season 5, reached #9 with both her debut album, Small Town Girl, and her follow-up, Kellie Pickler. Pickler is from North Carolina, a state that produced three other top-selling Idol contestants-Clay Aiken, Daughtry and Fantasia.

10. Josh Gracin, 780,000. Gracin, who finished fourth in Season 2, reached #11 with his debut album, Josh Gracin. The album spawned three chart hits, including "Nothin' To Lose," which made the top 40. Gracin's tally also includes his follow-up album, We Weren't Crazy.

11. Bo Bice, 735,000. The Season 4 runner-up reached #4 with his debut album, The Real Thing. It included the #2 hit, "Inside Your Heaven." Bice's tally also includes his follow-up album, See The Light. Bice is from Alabama, a state that has produced two Idol winners, Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard (though he was born in Germany, he grew up in Birmingham, Ala.).

12. Taylor Hicks, 719,000. The Season 5 winner reached #2 with his debut album, Taylor Hicks. It featured his #1 hit, "Do I Make You Proud," and a remake of the Doobie Brothers' "Takin' It To The Streets," which was a hit a few months before Hicks was born in 1976. Hicks' tally also includes The Distance, his new album, and Early Works, a collection of pre-Idol recordings.

13. Jennifer Hudson, 669,000. Hudson finished seventh in Season 3. No other Idol contestant who was voted off so early has sold 500,000 albums. Her debut album, Jennifer Hudson, reached #2 and won a Grammy for Best R&B Album. It featured her top 30 hit "Spotlight." Hudson also won an Oscar as Best Supporting Actress for Dreamgirls.

14. David Archuleta, 665,000. The Season 7 runner-up reached #2 with his debut album, David Archuleta. It featured the #2 hit "Crush," which has sold 1,642,000 downloads.

15. Elliott Yamin, 630,000. Yamin, who finished third in Season 5, reached #3 with his debut album, Elliot Yamin. It featured his top 15 hit, "Wait For You." Yamin's tally also includes two holiday titles, Sounds Of The Season and My Kind Of Holiday.
Four singers who made it to the final round on Idol have sold less than 500,000 albums to date and thus didn't make the list. Justin Guarini, the runner-up on Season 1, has sold 146,000 albums; Diana DeGarmo, the runner-up on Season 3, has sold 168,000; Katharine McPhee, the runner-up on Season 5, has sold 376,000; and Blake Lewis, the runner-up on Season 6, has sold 353,000.
